This past summer I went to Costa Rica and it was completely different from New Jersey. I felt like I was visiting a whole new planet. It was probably the most beautiful place that I have ever been to, but it was so different from my home in Franklin Lakes New Jersey, that it felt strange. Almost every person that I met spoke Spanish, so I did not meet many new people, I did try to speak to introduce my self in Spanish, and the person did understand me until he started to say a lot of words that I did not know and he spoke very fast. My Family stayed in a villa on the top of a mountain with a few other villas. We also visited a small town at the bottom of the mountain called Cocoa Village, and thats where I really noticed how different Costa Rica was. Most of the people living there had little money and their houses were very small compared to ours. I could also tell that there was a lot of crime there because all of the windows had bars on them and all of the fences had spikes on the top of them. Seeing this town made me realize how lucky I am to have money and to go to a good school and to have a house in good shape. Costa Rica was very different and it made me feel very strange and even a little stupid, but it changed my life forever because it made me realize how lucky I am.
